Pale di San Martino, Dolomiti

Veneto

The Altopiano delle Pale di San Martino is the largest high plateau in the Dolomites (60 km²) — a vast white limestone table at 2,500–2,700 m above San Martino. The plateau is reached by cable car or on foot; once up, the flat surface feels lunar. The cable car to Rosetta station (2,609 m) allows dogs to access the plateau. Chamois graze here undisturbed in July and August.
