The Parco Naturale Dolomiti Friulane (UNESCO) between Pordenone and Udine is the wildest and least-visited part of the Dolomites — no ski infrastructure, very few refuges, vertiginous dolomite walls. Cima Pradut (2,346 m) above Val Colvera is a representative summit. Brown bear confirmed (Slovenian bears colonising). Golden eagle and lammergeier. Chamois. Dogs off-leash on the approach.
