The Parco Nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi protects the southernmost Dolomite ridges above the Belluno plain. These peaks are less visited than the Cortina-Bolzano area and considerably wilder — few rifugi, rough trails, dense forest on the lower slopes. Golden eagles nest here; chamois are abundant.
