Corno alle Scale

Rising to nearly 1950m above the Modena and Bologna Apennines, this peak takes its name from a stepped rock formation on its flank that resembles a stone staircase, or 'scale'. The surrounding regional park protects beech and fir forest along with several small streams and waterfalls, and the summit ridge gives long views over the Reno valley below.
