Collodi lent its name to the pseudonym of Carlo Lorenzini, author of Pinocchio, and the village today combines a steep, genuinely medieval old quarter with an adjoining themed garden of Pinocchio-related sculpture and mosaic work. The climb through the old streets gives views over the surrounding Val di Nievole.
