The Colline Novaresi between Novara and Lake Maggiore produce Ghemme DOCG — a Nebbiolo wine aged minimum 3 years. The vineyard walks on glacial moraine hills give constant views to Monte Rosa and the Verbano Alps. Far fewer visitors than the Barolo or Barbaresco zones, the wineries are genuine family affairs. In late October the hills are carpeted in vine leaves turning gold.
