The dirt road over the Colle di Sampeyre climbs through larch woods to open pasture with a full-circle view over the Monviso group and the Cottian Alps. It forms part of the wartime "Strada dei Cannoni" supply route and gives easy ridge walks toward the Bric Cassin and the Testa di Garitta Nuova.
