The Plateau Rosa / Colle del Teodulo at 3,317 m is reached by cable car from Cervinia — the highest easily accessible point in the Alps in summer. The glacial plateau straddles the Swiss border; the Matterhorn's summit is only 700 m above. In July the glacier surface has residual winter snow and winter sports continue. The panorama includes over 20 4,000 m peaks.
