These rust-coloured pinnacles rise from a larch-dotted meadow below Averau and were an Italian front-line position in 1915-17, with trenches, gun emplacements and shelters still intact for visitors to walk through. Rock climbers use the towers year-round, and the loop trail offers constant views toward Tofana and the Cortina basin.
