Cava dei Dinosauri, Altamura

Puglia

When quarrying stopped, a huge bedding plane came to light bearing tens of thousands of tracks left by herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs walking a Cretaceous tidal flat about 80 million years ago — one of the densest trackway sites known. Boardwalks and panels explain the surface.
