The Catena del Lagorai between Val di Fiemme and Valsugana is the largest wilderness area in Trentino — 60 km of granite ridge with over 100 mountain lakes and no ski infrastructure. The traverse (SAT route 387) is called the most demanding route in Trentino. Capercaillie in the spruce forest below. Rock ptarmigan above the treeline. Brown bear confirmed in the eastern section. Dogs off-leash.
