This little-visited valley south of Auronzo di Cadore carries meltwater off the Marmarole massif through a sequence of falls and pools shaded by spruce and larch. The trail toward Rifugio Chiggiato follows the stream closely, and the Marmarole's jagged, rarely-climbed towers loom above the tree line for most of the walk.
