Cascate di Stanghe (Gilfenklamm), Racines

The Gilfenklamm (Cascate di Stanghe) near Racines in the Ridnaun valley is a 300 m gorge carved through granite with iron walkways, bridges and waterfalls. The path was opened in 1897 and the ironwork is original. The gorge is 2–3 m wide in the narrowest section with walls rising 30 m. Water temperature in the gorge is 8–10°C even in August — a natural air conditioning.
