Cascate di Marmarico, Bivongi
Calabria
The Cascate di Marmarico near Bivongi plunge 114 m in a single drop — one of the tallest falls in southern Italy and entirely unknown outside Calabria. The access trail passes through old-growth alder and turkey oak woodland to a viewpoint ledge level with the mid-point of the falls. The Stilaro valley below holds the Byzantine heritage of Stilo's Cattolica. The site has almost no facilities and complete solitude.
