The Cascate del Rio Bianco above Ampezzo in the Carnia fall 60 m in a white arc from the pre-Alpine plateau — the finest waterfall in the Julian Pre-Alps. The approach is a 30-minute walk through old alder and ash forest above the Tagliamento river. The Carnia plateau above has wild hay meadows with orchids and fritillaries. Dogs welcome on the trail.
