Cascate del Simbrivio

Lazio

Tucked into the Monti Simbruini range near Vallepietra, these falls see far fewer visitors than better-known Lazio waterfalls thanks to the length and remoteness of the approach through dense beech forest. The Simbruini massif is one of the wildest corners of Lazio, with documented wolf packs and one of the region's healthiest populations of Apennine wildlife. Vallepietra itself is known for an annual pilgrimage to a nearby sanctuary carved into the mountainside.
