Cascate del Doccione

Tucked into the wooded valley above Stia in the Casentino, this small cascade drops through a series of mossy rock steps shaded by beech and chestnut. It's a low-key spot compared to the region's better-known Apennine trails, popular mostly with locals for a short summer walk. The stream feeds eventually into the upper Arno, whose source lies not far away on nearby Monte Falterona.
