Cascata del Lago di Sauris

The Cascata above Sauris di Sotto falls into the Sauris lake (1,000 m) in the Carnia mountains of Friuli. Sauris is a Walser-German speaking village at 1,400 m — one of the highest permanently inhabited villages in Friuli. The local specialty is the Prosciutto di Sauris (smoked ham at altitude) and Zahre beer (the highest brewery in Italy). Dogs welcome on the valley path.
