Cascate del Catafurco

Close to the Aspromonte's main hill resort of Gambarie, these falls step down through a shaded ravine of tall Calabrian pine and beech, easily combined with a visit to the nearby Valle delle Grandi Pietre. Springtime snowmelt swells the flow considerably compared with late summer. The area is popular with Reggio Calabria families seeking cooler air in the mountains above the coast.
