Cascata del Varone

Trentino-Alto Adige

A short drive from Riva del Garda, the Cascata del Varone drops 98 m through a slot canyon it has carved into the limestone over millennia, fed by an underground stream from Lago di Tenno. Walkways bolted into the gorge walls let visitors get close to the thundering lower falls and look up through the narrow rock chimney the water has cut. It's been a visitor attraction since 1874, one of the oldest managed natural sites on Lake Garda.
