Cascata del Rio Freddo

Molise

The Rio Freddo plunges off the Matese massif in a single dramatic drop, framed by bare limestone cliffs that amplify its scale. The path down from Guardiaregia switchbacks steeply through scrubby woodland, and the waterfall is at its most powerful in spring, sometimes reduced to a trickle by late summer drought.
