Piscina Irgas
Sardinia
This cascade drops through a series of granite steps in the Monte Linas massif above Villacidro, one of several waterfalls in a valley long favoured by the town for cool summer outings. Chestnut and cork oak forest shades most of the approach, opening onto the falls where the pool deepens enough for a brief swim after the wetter months. Flow drops sharply by late summer, making spring visits the most rewarding.
