Cascata di Stanghe
Trentino-Alto Adige
The stream here has cut a narrow slot through pale local marble, once quarried for buildings as far afield as Munich, before dropping in a series of falls into rounded plunge pools. The Val Ridanna above Vipiteno was historically a mining valley for silver and other ores, and old adits are still visible on the surrounding slopes.
