Cascata delle Noci, Arrone
Umbria
The Cascata delle Noci near Arrone in the Val Nerina falls over travertine terraces in a narrow limestone gorge — the calcium-rich Nera water deposits white travertine that builds up over time into natural stepped pools. The gorge is cool even in summer. Dipper and grey wagtail on every pool. The valley road follows the Nera for 20 km of continuous gorge scenery.
