Cascata del Rio Freddo, Apecchio
Marche
The Rio Freddo ('Cold River') springs from karst limestone near Apecchio and plunges 15 m into a moss-covered basin permanently at 12°C. The short trail through old chestnut woodland is ideal in summer heat — the air drops noticeably 50 m from the falls. The site has no facilities and receives perhaps 20–30 visitors on a busy weekend day.
