The Cappella di Viso (3,020 m) on the Colle di Viso above Crissolo in the Po valley headwaters is the highest Baroque chapel in the Western Alps — built by Olivetan monks in 1840 for the Alpine crossing to France. The Monviso (3,841 m, 'King of Stone', the source of the Po) towers above. Ibex colony on the Monviso slopes. Marmot. Dogs off-leash on the approach.
