Capo Spartivento (Cape 'Divides the Wind') is the southernmost point of mainland Italy — the lighthouse marks where the Tyrrhenian meets the Ionian. On clear days the Strait of Messina and Sicily are 3 km across. The African coast is sometimes visible in exceptional visibility (160 km). The cape is inside the Aspromonte park. Dogs welcome. The wind here is constant.
