Capo Caccia, Alghero

Sardinia

Capo Caccia above Alghero is a 290 m vertical sea cliff — the Escala del Cabirol (Roe Deer Staircase, 656 steps) descends the cliff face to the Grotta di Nettuno below at sea level. Eleonora's falcon colony on the cliff (breeds here in late summer on the cliff ledges). Monk seal occasional in winter in the caves below. The view from the cliff top across the Porto Conte bay is extraordinary. Dogs on leash.
