Capo Caccia — Escala del Cabirol
Sardinia
Capo Caccia west of Alghero has the most dramatic sea cliff in Sardinia — 300 m of white limestone dropping sheer into the sea. The Escala del Cabirol ('goat's staircase') descends 656 steps to the sea-level Neptune's Caves (Grotte di Nettuno). The cliff top trail gives views to Alghero, the Costa Smeralda and Corsica. Peregrine and lanner falcon both nest on the cliff face.
