Cava d'Ispica in the Iblean plateau between Ispica and Modica is a 13 km canyon with continuous human occupation from 2700 BC — Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age rock necropolis, Byzantine Christian catacombs (4th-5th century AD) and medieval cave villages. The canyon is a remarkable landscape of white limestone cliff with fig and carob. Short-toed eagle in summer. Dogs off-leash.
