Campo Soriano, Terracina
Lazio
Campo Soriano above Terracina is a limestone karst plateau with extraordinary erosion forms — limestone pedestals and mushroom-shaped rocks called 'funghi di pietra'. The Ausonian hills above gave strategic views to the Pontine coast and the islands (Ponza and Ventotene visible). Roman road (Via Appia) passes below. Blue Rock Thrush on the limestone. Wall lizard. Dogs off-leash on the plateau.
