The Cammino Materano is a new long-distance route converging on Matera (European Capital of Culture 2019) from four directions through the wild Lucanian interior. The eastern branch from Taranto crosses the Murge plateau, deep ravines and abandoned masserie to reach the extraordinary sassi cave city of Matera.
