Buco di Viso (Pertuis du Viso), Monviso

From Pian del Re — where the Po rises — a path climbs the wild upper valley past the Lago Fiorenza and the Lago Chiaretto to the Colle delle Traversette at 2,950 m. Just below it, the 75 m Buco di Viso was dug by the Marquisate of Saluzzo in 1480 to move salt and goods to France; you can walk through it into the Valle del Guil.
