Carved by an underground stream through the Alpe del Viceré ridge, Buco del Piombo opens into a cathedral-sized main chamber that has sheltered hermits, smugglers, and even wartime refugees over the centuries. Bronze Age tools found near the entrance point to occupation going back thousands of years. The steep approach path climbs through oak woods with wide views back over the Lambro valley and Brianza.
