Run by the Italia Nostra foundation with volunteers, Boscoincittà has grown from bare fields into 120 hectares of oak-hornbeam wood, hedgerows, a canal, ponds and allotment gardens. Winding footpaths, a restored farmstead and a lot of birdlife make it feel far from the ring road just outside.
