On the high plateau east of Monte Sant'Angelo, Bosco Quarto is a state forest of tall beech, maple and oak with grazing clearings, sinkholes and cool air even in August. Forest roads and the "Sentiero del Cervo" cross it, with roe and (reintroduced) red deer and a rich raptor population.
