Bosco Nordio, Chioggia
Veneto
Bosco Nordio is one of the last fragments of the "bosco litoraneo" that once lined the northern Adriatic — holm oak, ash and hornbeam on old dune "staggi", with damp hollows between. A short flat trail network and a wildlife-recovery centre (with a tortoise-breeding programme) sit inside the reserve near Sant'Anna di Chioggia.
