The Bosco Magnano near Rotondella in the Pollino foothills is an ancient sessile oak forest recognized as one of the most biodiverse forest patches in the western Mediterranean — over 1,400 plant species in the immediate surroundings. Wolf crosses the forest. Goshawk and honey buzzard breed. The forest floor has wild garlic in spring and spectacular fungi in autumn. Dogs off-leash.
