Bosco di Tecchie, Pietralunga

The Bosco di Tecchie near Pietralunga in the Alto Tevere is one of the few surviving old-growth broadleaf forests in Umbria — centuries-old oaks and hornbeam on a hillside that escaped charcoal production. Wild boar, roe deer and tawny owls inhabit it. The forest floor is carpeted with wood anemone in March.
