Irsina — Bradano Valley Walk

Basilicata

Irsina (Montepeloso in antiquity) is a hilltop town above the Bradano valley with a unique treasure — a Mantegna-attributed Euphemia statue in the Duomo. The clay calanchi ravines below the town are extraordinary — eroded gully formations that cut deep into the grey clay hills, visible from a path along the Bradano valley.
