Barile — Grotte e Cantine nel Tufo

Barile's hillside is honeycombed with caves cut into volcanic tufo, many still used as wine cellars for the local Aglianico del Vulture, and some historically inhabited as dwellings. A walk through the older quarters passes numerous cave mouths, with the Vulture's slopes visible above the rooftops.
