Montalto di Gambarie, Aspromonte

Montalto (1,956 m) is the summit of the Aspromonte massif above Gambarie — a peak from which three seas are theoretically visible on perfect days: the Tyrrhenian, the Ionian and the Strait of Messina. The Aspromonte National Park protects old-growth black pine (Pinus nigra calabrica) forest below the summit. Wild cat and wolf both confirmed. The Grecanico-speaking Roghudi village is below.
