Ascoli Piceno — Piazza del Popolo & Torri

Ascoli Piceno's travertine-paved Piazza del Popolo, enclosed by continuous Renaissance porticoes, is regularly cited among Italy's finest squares, and several of the town's surviving medieval towers — once numbering in the hundreds — are still visible from it. It's a flat, level walk distinct from the Tronto river park the town also offers.
