The Arma delle Mànie is a broad cave portal in the pale Finale limestone, used from the Middle Palaeolithic onward — Neanderthal tools, then Bronze-Age burials. It sits on the Mànie karst plateau, a green upland of oak wood, drystone walls and climbing crags criss-crossed by easy paths and the old Via Julia Augusta.
