The Tombolo di Giannella is the northern tombolo (sand spit) connecting Monte Argentario to the mainland — 6 km of sandy beach with the Laguna di Orbetello on one side and the Tyrrhenian on the other. Dogs are welcome year-round (no seasonal restrictions, unlike many Tuscan beaches). Flamingo feed in the lagoon visible from the beach. Porcupine inhabits the pine forest behind the dunes.
