Antica Strada Valeriana, Lago d'Iseo
Lombardy
Before the lakeside road existed, the Valeriana carried traffic along the terraces above the eastern shore from Pilzone to Pisogne. Restored and waymarked, it links Marone, Vello and Zone through olive groves, chestnut wood and vineyards, with the frescoed church of Santa Maria della Neve at Pisogne — the "poor man's Sistine Chapel" — at the north end.
