A waymarked 5 km loop runs right around the "rupe", the volcanic plateau of Orvieto, mostly on a shelf between the vertical tufa and the vineyards below, passing cave mouths, Etruscan tombs, springs and the funicular. It gives changing views up at the cathedral and the towers and out to Monte Peglia.
