The Alpe della Luna reserve protects a long sandstone crest of deep beech forest around the Bocca Trabaria pass (1,049 m), the lowest crossing of the central Apennine. Paths follow the ridge to the Ripa della Luna cliffs and the headwaters of the Meta and Auro streams, with wide views over three regions.
