Rupe Atenea, Agrigento

Sicily

The Rupe Atenea escarpment above Agrigento overlooks the Valley of the Temples — the greatest collection of ancient Greek ruins outside Greece. The hillside walk in February passes almond orchards in full blossom (the Almond Blossom Festival takes place here); the temples below are lit at dusk in a scene unchanged in 2,500 years.
