The 12th-century abbey of Chiaravalle, with its tall "ciribiciaccola" lantern tower, stands in the flat farmland of the Parco Agricolo Sud Milano. Flat lanes and canal towpaths link it to the Nosedo wetlands, working cascine and the Vettabbia valley, a surprisingly rural walk reachable by the Milan tram.
